Each of the In Your Dreams
artists has been asked to write a postscript as the In Your Dreams
exhibition is taken down for the last time in June 2010.
I have been to two of the venues showing In Your
Dreams, Maitland and Armidale. The works looked wonderful in both places
- in Maitland they were spread out and gave the viewers an interesting
promenade, while in Armidale the works were shown in a tighter format which
again gave the impression of a 'block' but were still engaging and involved
the viewer in a different way.

In Your Dreams has
been a wonderful experience for me. It was great to have my work travel to
Germany and Australia and to see the inventive work created by artists from
those countries. A highlight for me was travelling to Munich, Germany for Die
Lange Naucht der Munchner Museen. It was something I will never forget. Thanks
to the organizers of the project for their hard work and to the artists
for sharing their creative talents.

I was a proud participant at the In Your Dreams
opening night in Brandon, Manitoba in 2006. It was exciting to see,
installed for the first time, the 20 very diverse and imaginative artworks
from three countries. It was fascinating to me to discover that a piece
created by an artist from another country had some similarities to my
own work. I really appreciated the opportunity to show work in Germany and
Australia. Thank you to all who made this exhibition a reality, and
especially to Helen, for her dedication to the project.

Helen’s dream of a travelling exhibition of a
selection of artists from Australia, Canada and Germany has been truly
amazing. From small beginnings to an ever-growing, complicated, difficult but
most popular exhibition, she is to be admired for her consistency and
dedication. I would like to thank Helen for asking me to be a part of it.

I feel very
lucky to be part of this project. In Your Dreams has been a great
journey for both the work and the artists. Words are not quite enough when
giving thanks to the lead artists who did all the hard yards in making it
happen. Many thanks go to Karen and Lene Rose for the overseas support and
dedication. A heart felt thanks also must go to organizer extraordinaire Helen
for the tireless support and organization that she devoted to the entire
project. To all the galleries that accommodated the exhibition many thanks the
work changed and evolved in each one of them. Judy you did a wonderful job
with the website a great source of information about the process and the
outcome, thanks. To everyone involved thanks for the memories.

In Your
Dreams was a brilliant idea that brought together artists from three
countries and linked them to the public in each of these countries. It was a
great experience!

Thank you Helen for inviting me to be apart of this
wonderful exchange exhibition, without your dedication & hard work none of
this would have been possible. I still can't believe it has been 5 years since
IYD toured! You are truly amazing & our STAR! Thank you too to Judy for your
countless hours spent helping with the website, it looks great!

The In Your Dreams exhibition has been a very supportive experience for
me. My heartfelt thanks to you Helen for instigating an exhibition of such
magnitude, a mammoth task, and for your dedication and commitment and for
inviting me to participate. I shall not forget the creative solution of the
Canadian artists when my work arrived at the first exhibition venue, only to
find they couldn't open the combination lock on the box protecting the work.
Thanks for being so innovative, I thought for a moment that my work would
remain hidden in its tomb.

It is one thing to dream up the idea of a themed traveling exhibition. Quite
another to inspire artists from three countries to produce work and then
co-ordinate to show it in twelve venues across three continents. You are a
woman of many talents and great dedication, Helen. Thank you so much for
allowing me to be part of IYD!

Now, my work is safely back from Australia, my thanks go to curators Karen
Cornelius, Lene Rose Gruner and above all to Helen Sanderson for the giant task.
The communication with Helen and the exchange of views with her always were
pleasant and you could constantly rely an a positive and quick answer. Thanks
as well to Judy Smith for the excellent websites, so it was possible to observe
the exhibition from afar . I am proud to have participated in such a global
exhibition and to meet artists of other continents and cultures at the same
time. The exhibition has been well received. This is best affirmed by the fact
that several galleries have requested to prolong the tour . I wish Helen good
luck and success in her future projects.

In Your Dreams is about to close, after being shown in two venues in
Canada, two venues in Germany and eight venues in Australia over a period of
five years. The exhibition has been transformed each time it has been shown,
with each installation in different size and shaped rooms, and the flair of each
of the gallery installation teams making the show look and feel quite different.
I have decided to call it quits now, despite there being requests from further
galleries to show this remarkable exhibition. It is time for me to move on with
other projects, and to return the artworks to the artists.
I have many people to thank for helping with the In Your Dreams
exhibition. The first steps in organising this touring International exhibition
started in early 2004…and it is now June 2010. My biggest worry was whether the
artists would build works strong enough to tour for a year or more. I had no
idea it would tour for so long. Over this time the works have withstood the
rigours of touring to perfection! My heartfelt thanks go to every artist for
fulfilling this part of the brief so well. Thank you to Corrie for her
assistance with getting the catalogue for the exhibition together.
Thank you to Karen for all her efforts in Canada…I have learned a lot from you
during this time. Thank you to Lene Rose for her efforts in Germany, and for
looking after me and showing me around when I came to Germany to set up In
Your Dreams in 2005. Thanks to Agatha who was living in Germany at that
time, for helping so much with the initial establishment of this project. Her
support was a vital key for me. Also thank you to Vera and Sylvia in Munich for
their efforts when In Your Dreams showed at Amerika Haus. I will always
treasure the memories of going to the Lang Nacht der Museen in Munich in 2007.
To see how the German people embrace the arts with such enthusiasm was
marvelous. It was a fabulous experience. I loved meeting the German artists,
and Canadians Karen and Shirley who also attended. Thank you to Hildegard and
her husband for often translating my words into German for the German artists.
The tour in Australia has been well received. Thank you to all the Regional
Gallery directors and staff for embracing our exhibition. These galleries
appreciated the International artist’s content, and the diversity of work within
the show. The exhibition has been seen by a huge number of school children,
college students and university undergraduates, as well as the general public.
My eternal thanks go to Judy Smith for establishing and maintaining the In
Your Dreams website for us since 2005. It has been of great use to the
galleries, educational bodies, and in some cases journalists. A special thank
you goes to Barbara and Penny, for their wonderful understanding when we had
problems with their works while on tour in Australia. It has been a great
experience for me personally, and I thank you all so much for your support and
participation. Thank you to my daughter Jacelyn for her help on many occasions.
None of it would have happened without the support and enthusiasm of my husband
Don.
