This work has four boxes that are put together to form one
square. The work is to be viewed on a plinth, table or shelf. The boxes are
painted with a network of ambiguous forms painted to the surfaces, front and
back, that link up in any combination. The work will have black felt to
rest on, that will be sent by the artist. Lene Rose is well known for her
works that link up in many mathematical combinations. You are invited to
present the work in any combination you prefer, and encouraged to make daily
changes to the combination during the duration of the exhibition. The
artist notes that you could make one change a day for 18432 days before you
repeated a combination! Lene Rose says : The presentation is the four parts
of box , wood, can you combine in different ways. The 16 pieces of paper,
lying on black felt can be turned and combined new with a group of 4 Mapo pictures:
you have 18432 positions.

Note: Reference to Mapo pictures can be found in her biography:

Please,
handle with care!
I suggest the following ways of presentation:
-
Stand the pages in a zigzag row
on a table or shelf, or in a show case
-
Open on a narrow shelf leaning
against the wall
-
Two people should pin the
leporello to the wall with fine pins (4 pins per page)
-
When dismantling two people
should work carefully to avoid damaging the porous surface
-
It should not be hung on the wall
by the front page, as the connecting gauze strips might tear

How to post the artwork in the
galerie: you can post it in the box, that
should be opened, like accidentally at any place in the show-room, even on
the floor; or you can hang the object itself like a picture on the wall
(there is a line at the backside of the object); in this case you can either
leave the box away or you post it as it fits, for example at the floor close
to the object, like an opened envelope.

Installation instruction
Please open the box
very careful. You will find a doll of ceramic with a threat on its head.
Hang the threat on
the hook in the middle of the box, inside.
It has to look at the
viewer. So you may turn around the little screw on its head.
On the
top please put the silverpaper around the “roof”. So it looks like a booth.
Are the
Red Roses okay like on the foto?
Thanks
says Karina.
Vielen Dank Karina
